If you've looked into kava bars at all, it's likely you've seen some refer to "true kava bars". This term is coined for kava bars like ours that provide a 100% alcohol-alternative kava bar. We do not serve alcohol, instead embracing the natural and holistic social relaxation that kava provides.

Why Noble?
In recent years, kava has been steadily gaining popularity - especially in the US. More and more people are starting to understand and appreciate the amazing benefits and history of kava, bringing about a surge of kava bars in the country.
Unfortunately the rise in demand for kava has caused some to cultivate "Tudei" kava due to its higher yield and faster growth. This type of kava is not safe for everyday use - many have found that after drinking it, they experience hangover-like symptoms that last for two days (hence the name 'tudei'). Due to its quick growth and higher yield than noble kava, some vendors have started to mix tudei and noble kava as a means of boosting their profits.
At Mai Kai Kava, we only purchase and provide Noble-variety kava. Nobla kava is lab-tested and certified to ensure not only high quality but safety to the consumer as well.
